You're invited to our wedding on June 4, 2016!
LEVYLAND ESTATES
5:00 PM
2401 Mountain View Drive
Carlsbad, CA 92008
(760) 213-2467
Attire: beachy cocktail - flip flops welcome, sunglasses encouraged.
The wedding will take place at Levyland Estates in Carlsbad, CA. The grounds include a beach, where we will hold the ceremony, and a residence, where we will return for the reception.
To reach the beach, start from the parking area and follow the path marked by our convenient signs. Be advised that this is about a quarter mile each way. You may want to arrive early to avoid having to rush. There will be golf carts available to transport guests unable to make the walk.
We will spend most of the afternoon outdoors, so don't forget to wear comfortable shoes and plenty of sunscreen! Since 2016 is an El Niño year, you may also want to pack an umbrella, bug repellent, and something warm to wear in the evening.
The Next Day
Beach Day! Come by Levyland any time after 11 for brunch, games, and catching up. We would love a second chance to see you before you go.
Where to Stay in Carlsbad
We have reserved a block of 30 rooms at the Carlsbad Inn (www.carlsbadinn.com). The rates are $209 a night, and the hotel is walking distance to the wedding. Free perks include breakfast, WiFi, bike rentals, and more.
If you’re interested in other places to stay, there are lots of Airbnb options and vacation house rentals through VRBO. Or you can take a page out of Courtney’s parents’ book and set up a house trade!
What to Do in Carlsbad
Carlsbad is a cute beach town with many great restaurants, bars, and breweries. Near the hotel and wedding venue, you’ll find The Compass, Naked Café, Mazen 106, The Land & Water Company, and Gaia Gelato. If you’re looking for upscale dining, try Paon and its attached wine tasting room. For drinks, check out Relm, O’Sullivan’s Irish Pub, or the equivocal Southern California classic, Hennessey’s.
Carlsbad is also close to attractions in San Diego like the Zoo, the Safari Park, and Legoland. Disneyland is about an hour north of Carlsbad.
And of course, there are endless beach activities available. Swimming, surfing, boating, jet skiing, it's all here. Keep in mind that the Pacific is a much colder ocean than the Atlantic!
Reaching and Getting Around Carlsbad
The closest airport to Carlsbad is the San Diego International Airport (SAN), which is around 40 minutes away if driving. Coming from John Wayne Airport Orange County (SNA) takes about a 50 minute drive. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) tends to have the cheapest tickets, but be aware that navigating Los Angeles traffic can add several hours to your travel time.
There is a train station in Carlsbad that is used by Amtrak’s Pacific Surfrider line and the North County Coaster commuter line.
Carlsbad is a small town and very walkable. Additionally, there are abundant taxis, bike rentals, and Lyft and Uber services.
